Battle of Orbis Terrarum Part 4

The war was vast, we took many casualties.
We could hardly put a dent in their numbers. We hadn't expected them to be to great in size.
After two weeks of nonstop fighting, a victor was decided.
I gave the order to retreat.
We fled, like cowards we had been reduced to.
I would rather lose than watch my men die.
In the end, Charlie's fleet was halve and Gareth's shrunk to 253 men.
All of my men made it out alive, I am proud of their skill.
I gathered my comrades in council, we knew our enemies intention.
We decided that the only way to survive is to return to society and hide as another brick in the wall.
The take over was swift. In only a month had our enemies taken over.
Those who stood against them were killed without hesitation.
This new world order is called the Alliance.
People have no freedom anymore.
They are told what they can watch, what they can eat, and even where they can go.
It's not all bad.
World trade is at an all time high, gas and other resources are now far cheaper than they ever have been.
Charlie fled to space to gather the tattered remains of his fleet.
Gareth slipped into the shadows, I don't know what happened to him.
As for me, that's another story.
A story that I'm not going to tell you.
